The Downtown Grimsby Business Improvement Area (BIA) is proud to announce the launch of a refreshed brand identity, marking an exciting new chapter for Grimsby’s historic downtown core. The new brand reflects the area’s strong sense of community, local pride, and its role as a welcoming destination for residents and visitors alike. As part of the rebrand, Downtown Grimsby has also launched a new website, downtowngrimsby.com, and new social media accounts at @downtowngrimsby on Instagram and @DTGrimsby on Facebook, along with a contest featuring a $500 prize to encourage the community to follow and engage with the new platforms.
The rebrand features a completely new visual identity, and a redesigned website created to better serve local businesses, residents, and visitors. Together, these updates provide a more cohesive, modern look while reinforcing Downtown Grimsby’s position as a hub for shopping, dining, arts, culture, and community connection.
At the centre of the new visual identity is a logo featuring a location marker icon, symbolizing Downtown Grimsby as a destination worth discovering. The logo incorporates a green element inspired by the Niagara Escarpment and a blue element representing Lake Ontario, highlighting the downtown’s unique connection to its surrounding natural landscape. The inclusion of the establishment year honours Grimsby’s long history, bringing together heritage and place in a clean, contemporary design.
“Our goal was to create a brand that feels true to Downtown Grimsby,” said Simon Duong, Chair of the Downtown Grimsby BIA. “This refresh gives us a strong foundation for the years ahead while honouring our roots.”
While the organization’s official name remains the Downtown Grimsby Business Improvement Area, it will now commonly be referred to as Downtown Grimsby across marketing and communications.
The new website, downtowngrimsby.com, is now live and features an improved user experience, updated business listings, event information, and resources for both visitors and local businesses. The site serves as a central hub to explore what Downtown Grimsby has to offer and to stay connected with the community.
As part of the rebrand, Downtown Grimsby has also launched new social media accounts. The public is encouraged to follow @DowntownGrimsby on Instagram and visit Facebook.com/DTGrimsby on Facebook to stay up to date on events, promotions, and downtown news. To celebrate the launch, Downtown Grimsby is also hosting a contest. Follow the new social media pages and tag a friend in the comments of the launch post for a chance to win a $500 gift certificate to the downtown business of your choice. The giveaway will end on April 10th, and a winner will be announced after April 15th.
